United World College International School of Asia Karuizawa (UWC ISAK) will hold a special high school information session and workshop at Tokyo West International School.
About UWC ISAK
UWC ISAK is Japan’s only full-boarding international high school and the newest member of the United World Colleges movement.
UWC ISAK Japan opened its doors in 2014 as International School of Asia, Karuizawa (ISAK) after more than six years of preparation. The school’s history began in 2008, when Lin Kobayashi (ISAK founder and Chair of the Board) and Mamoru Taniya (Representative Founder), two individuals who share a long-running passion for education, were introduced. The two were supported by 100 founders who helped make the dream of ISAK a reality.
In 2012, Ms. Kobayashi and newly appointed Head of School, Roderick Jemison, began talks with UWC. Ms. Kobayashi experienced UWC education first hand, graduating from UWC Pearson College in 1993. In October 2016, UWC announced that ISAK had been granted official approval to join the organization. On August 1, 2017, International School of Asia, Karuizawa became UWC ISAK Japan.
An extensive article is featured in the International School Times website (in Japanese).
The information sessions held in central Tokyo are all sold out, and we hope that this special occasion will be beneficial to the parents and guardians of the Global Step Academy group who are currently considering about their children’s future.
This event will be limited to families belonging to the GSA group schools (Tokyo West International School, Global Step Academy International School, Central Forest International School, GSA-WISDOM).
